- 5:30 AM eastern sky – Jupiter appears above the horizon before sunrise
- 11 PM southern sky – Aquarius constellation with the Y-shaped Water Jar asterism and the globular star cluster Messier 2
- 11 PM southern sky – Capricornus constellation with the bright optical binary star Algiedi and the globular cluster Messier 30
- 9 PM eastern sky – Harvest Moon rises in the east at sunset on the night of September 8-9
