Here are some of the things to see in February:
- 9 pm, southwestern sky – Orion constellation, with its recognizable hourglass shape formed by the bright stars Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Rigel, and Saiph, as well as the three stars of Orion’s Belt; the bright Orion Nebula (Messier 42), visible below the Belt as part of Orion’s Sword
- 9 pm, southern sky – Canis Major constellation with Sirius, the brightest star in the sky and one of the nearest stars to our Sun, and the bright open star cluster Messier 41
- 9 pm, southern sky – Canis Minor constellation with the bright Procyon, which forms the Winter Triangle with Sirius and Betelgeuse
