- Scorpius constellation with the recognizable fishhook asterism, the red supergiant Antares marking the Scorpion’s heart, the bright globular cluster Messier 4, located only 1.3 degrees west of the star, and the open clusters Messier 6 and Messier 7, also known as the Butterfly Cluster and the Ptolemy Cluster, about 4-5 degrees north-northeast of Shaula, the constellation’s second brightest star
- Sagittarius constellation with the prominent Teapot asterism, the globular star cluster Messier 22, one of the nearest globular clusters to Earth, and the bright nebulae the Omega (Swan) Nebula, Trifid Nebula and the Lagoon Nebula
