Here are some of the things to see in February:
- 9 pm, southwestern sky – Orion constellation with Orion’s Belt, formed by Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka, the Orion Nebula (Messier 42), large, bright star-forming region appearing as the central star in Orion’s Sword, the bright Betelgeuse and Bellatrix marking the Hunter’s shoulders, and Saiph and Rigel, the feet
- 9 pm, southern sky – Canis Major constellation with Sirius, the brightest star in the sky and one of our nearest neighbours, and the open cluster Messier 41
- 9 pm, southern sky – Canis Minor with Procyon, another exceptionally bright nearby star, that forms a prominent asterism known as the Winter Triangle with Sirius and Betelgeuse
